A far-from-average kome shochu spiced up with the kick of long pepper, a spice native to India and used in cuisines across Southeast Asia. With a slightly sweet, complex flavor that evokes elements of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, it may be a sipper for the bravest of palettes, but it really shines when mixed with soda or ginger ale at a 1:5 ratio, creating a craft cola-like drink. It’s also the perfect foundation for spicy cocktails or shots.
